I have run into a problem where explorer does not automatically update when running a lot of RAM intensive applications. I tried typing it in myself, but that didn't work either. When I rebooted the file was still there, so I tried telling it to move and rename the file. If F5 doesn't do anything, you should also try to restart the computer once and see if that removes the previously deleted files. I was removing an old DfsPrivate folder.
