Iíve had some permissions problems in the past, this could be related to that, but Iíve not been able to find anything. And if it did, what does that mean in practise? Iíve verified mine is set to the loop-back, 127.0.0.1. The /var/log/mysql folde was owned by root somehow, but was supposed to be owned by mysql. On Debian at least, you get mysql* logs in /var/log. UNIX is a registered trademark of The Open Group.

Following advice that worked for others with the same problem, I've configured the service to log on as "Local System account".
