You may have Network for Clients installed which can cause the problem, or it is using the wrong TCP/IP. if so then it sounds like you've got a tcp/ip stack problem ... You advised to reinstall the network components and then restart the system. I also could not extract it from the windows disk as it is not there.So you do not feel like the Lone Ranger....I do not have a tcpip.sys in Win98 SE
