However, I would really appriciate if those patches were not totaly automatic and if there were also some downloadable versions of those patches, since I cannot connect to Steam. I was pleasantly surprised that a) my error log was replied to by Valve and that b) the fix worked. Adding more RAM would have fixed the problem. If you have Zone Alarm installed, you must go to Program Control -> Programs and find all Steam and HL2.exe programs, left-click on the ?-signs and click allow. when i opened the console it repeated the error and after five minutes the game crashed.
I get this error when I go exit advanced video settings, or when I save the game, and once it totally locked me up and I had to coldstart.
