In the Setup menu (accessed by pressing F2 during startup) there doesn't seem to be an administrator password set. I have the same problem today... I think a virus may have hobbled my safe mode. Thank You all in advance.

Boot from the CD and select the locksmith option to change whatever password you like. I installed that through importing into my registry, and voila, it boots perfectly into safe mode now! You must also have Administrative rights to the entire library of information on the disk. Thanks for letting us know.

This is a network computer and I can logon to all other network computers using the same username and password. In fact, you can use a hidden Administrator account in Windows XP to reset your main user password. Oh well, time for a new computer anyways. How do I do this?
